KEY MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP ELECTIONS IN NOVEMBER 2005 VOTING DAY: TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2005
Editor's Notes:
- Citizens are urged to contact the Montgomery County Board of Elections at (610) 278-3275 or access the county's Voter Services Office website at http://www.montcopa.org/countyoffices/voterserv.htm for additional information.
- Many voters know little or nothing about the candidates for elected office who routinely seek their votes. MTCW extended offers to each of the candidates listed below to have published on the MTCW website a personal statement of 1,000 words or less directed to potential township voters, providing an opportunity for the candidates to express, in their own words, why they feel they are deserving of the trust and confidence that a vote for them would represent. We thank those candidates who responded to our request. The statements of those candidates who opted to provide them are accessible by clicking the related link that appears to the right of their respective name.

Note: Montgomery Township is currently governed by elected Supervisors according to provisions of the Second Class Township Code of Pennsylvania. Supervisors in Montgomery Township are currently elected "at large," versus by district or precinct, and the term of office is six (6) years. The governing body ("The Board of Supervisors") currently consists of 5 (male) republicans, and while the past couple of election cycles have provided voters with some competition, the area's Democratic Party has thus far been unsuccessful in gaining any representation on the Board.
