Montgomery Township Citizen Watch (MTCW) is an information source and exchange promoting open and accountable local government in Montgomery Township and a strong local press. We advocate a strong press because of its power and duty to hold public officials accountable to voters.

Weak local news reporting indirectly but significantly contributes to many serious local problems. These include over-development and traffic congestion, waste and inefficiency in government, rising taxes, corruption, secrecy and conflicts of interest. Yet the quality of news reporting by both our print and TV media--in national, state and local markets--has been steadily declining, a result largely due to corporate consolidation of our media and the pursuit of profits and risk avoidance at the expense of good journalism.

MTCW will endeavor to provide a fresh alternative to our traditional providers of local news and opinion with respect to important issues impacting Montgomery Township and the local community with the goal of better scrutinizing official statements and actions. MTCW seeks to make Montgomery Township a better community in which to live by increasing the level of openness and accountability in our local government.
